YG Impact

The Project

I got hired by Ylenia Guerrini to create her portfolio website. From scratch to product.

Ylenia Guerrini, also known as YG Impact, is a versatile event organizer specializing in event management, stage management, and production management. She needed a personal website to showcase her portfolio and truly represent who she is.

This was my first real client project, and I was excited to take on the challenge. We had in-depth discussions about the look and feel of the site—she wanted it to reflect both her classy and fun personality. Additionally, she preferred a hands-off approach, meaning she didn’t want to manually update the site by adding new projects or editing text.

To achieve this, I integrated the Instagram API, allowing her latest posts to automatically appear on her projects page, including captions. This way, she only needs to post on Instagram, and her portfolio updates itself effortlessly.

After finalizing the design, we agreed on a concept that met her vision, and I brought it to life through development.

I created this site using Next.js and React and deployed it via Vercel.

Throughout this project, I gained valuable experience working with Next.js and React, as well as learning how to deploy a live website. More importantly, I realized how crucial clear communication is when working with a client—understanding their vision, handling feedback, and finding solutions that align with their needs.

Check out the live site here: www.ygimpact.nl – and yes, it’s fully responsive for both mobile and desktop!
